Kathy Tosch is a self-taught artist painting full time in her backyard studio among the trees, birds, and squirrels in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Teaching about the natural world as a high school Biology teacher and always living near beaches and bayous influence her subject matter. She paints all manner of subjects including, interpretive portraits, figures, landscapes, florals and animals, all with an unexpected twist. Most of her ideas come from the visions in her head. Color, marks and symbols are woven into her work.
Kathy likes to think of herself as a “pixie dust spreader on a tilt-a-whirl” when it comes to her art. Her hope is that her paintings will spin out into the universe for someone else to enjoy. She is a member of the Mississippi Art Colony, Ocean Springs Art Association, New Orleans Art Association, National Museum For Women in the Arts, Mississippi state Committee and Mobile Arts Council.
